This CD features 36 tracks sung from Ingalls' collection of early New England folk-hymns, recorded 2004-2005 at Boston University featuring the "Connexion" Shape-note singers directed by Thomas B. Malone along with visiting traditional singers from across New England.
Possibly the first entire album dedicated solely to the music of this important American composer. The recordings are raw, folky, and unpolished, but the performances are spirited and Ingalls' music rings loud and clear!
