The Christian Harmony by Jeremiah Ingalls, ed. 2005
This book is the 2005 edition of Jeremiah Ingalls' "The Christian Harmony" printed for use in the Bicenntennial Singing in Newbury VT, edited by Thomas B. Malone. It is a performing edition designed for the enjoyment of shape-note singers, church choirs, early music ensembles, or concert choirs interested in Early American music.
The 260 pg. book contains the entire contents of Ingalls 1805 original work, set in modern type using 4-shape notation, as is found in The Sacred Harp. In addition, there is also an APPENDIX of historic and modern tunes added for the 2005 edition.
This additional section contains folk-hymns from early 19th century collections, fuging tunes from 18th century New England masters such as Billings, Swan, Read, Belcher, and Holden, as well as compositions by 20th Century singing masters including Bruce Randall, Glen Wright, and Neely Bruce.

"A Glimpse of Heavenly Day" Ingalls' music live in Weathersfield VT, June 26th, 2005
Recorded live in Vermont, Ingalls' music is heard in the beautiful resonant space of the 1833 Weathersfield Meeting House. The unmistakable spirit of an 'open-singing' and the various tempos and interpretations of the different leaders make this CD distinctive and rich. "Honor to the Hills" and "Free Grace" are stand-out tracks.

Ingalls Bicentennial Singing, July 23rd 2005
A three day festival of Ingalls music calls for a 3-CD set of 'fasola' music. The first disc features Ingalls' music recorded in 'open-singing' in the Old Village Church on the town green in Newbury. The second disc features selections from the Sacred Harp recorded at the same event. The third disc features highlights from the evening concert including performances by The North Country Chorus, The Jeremiah Ingalls Society, Norumbega Harmony, Connexion Singers, and more.
This set of recordings will be available in Sept. It is still being edited.
